International Citrus Exhibition in Menton
The first edition of the International Citrus Fair in Menton, which was held on 5 and 6 April, was a great success, bringing together PGI professionals from the six European producing countries around professional round tables, workshops, conferences for the general public, an authors’ area, commercial stands and cooking shows.
We had the pleasure of actively contributing to this, by presenting our actions and commitments in our citrus sectors.
Marika Bianchi, CSR manager at Jean GAZIGNAIRE – Groupe MUL, provided a downstream vision during the professional round table dedicated to the implementation of quality labels and certifications. She explained that our customers’ requirements obviously relate to product quality, but also to the environmental and socio-economic impacts of these productions. To meet this demand, we have, for example, set up a Fair For Life sector with our local partner on Sicilian Lemon essential oil, while developing the share of products certified Organic Farming.
Olivier Polge, perfumer creator of the CHANEL house, spoke at the conference “Citrus fruits in perfumery” to explain the importance of exceptional materials in his creative process, such as Neroli or bitter orange petitgrain from the Pays de Grasse, which we produce in collaboration with the Nérolium agricultural cooperative.
Our exhibition on bitter orange trees, hung for the occasion, the distribution of the magazine Les saisons de CHANEL dedicated to the orange blossom of the Pays de Grasse, the intervention of our head of agricultural sectors Jean-Noël FALCOU who presented his book Cultivating organic citrus fruits, completed these two days of fascinating exchanges!
